Partnachklamm – A River Gorge

Partnachklamm is a river gorge situated in the Bavarian Alps in Germany, and is a truly breathtaking natural treasure. It draws tourists from all over the world in tens of thousands. The gorge is a stunning beauty, with rushing white water enclosed within. It is situated at the corner of the twin towns of Garmisch and Partenkirchen. It is known as a national geosite, and natural monument.

Partnachklamm gorge is a natural channel that was gorged for the Partnach torrent that extends for eight hundred meters flanked limestone walls standing and eighty meters high. The gorge is simply one of the most beautiful in the alpine area, which in itself is no slouch.


The site has so many tourists thronging the area that come here to enjoy the pristine natural beauty. Hiking along the stretch of the gorge on the chiseled pathway that has been made along the limestone wall just a number of feet above the river is one of the most popular activities. It is possible to enjoy the river gorge in the best possible way by doing so.

GROUPS

For groups of 15 or more persons, the group pricing is 6.50 EUR for adults and 2.50 EUR for children. The bus driver and guide are free to tour the gorge.

Bicycles and Boats are not permitted into the gorge for reasons related to security.
